An hour of navigation to cover about 10 km of sea and to reach the ports of Portoferraio, capital of Elba, and Rio Marina. There is also a fast passenger-only hydrofoil connection that reaches Portoferraio in just under forty minutes. Then drive out in Rosignano and continue on the expressway to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.<br \/>\nIf you are coming from the northeast, take the A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano and continue to the port of Piombino. From the south, follow the A 12 Rome-Grosseto motorway to Rosignano Marittima and then continue on the motorway to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>By plane:<\/h5>\n<p>The island of Elba can also be reached by plane. La Pila Airport, 2 km from Marina di Campo, is open all year round, but is particularly active in the summer months. Internal air connections exist with Milan Linate, Lugano, Florence and Pisa.<br \/>\nThe closest Tuscan airports are those of Florence and Pisa.
