How to find us

The island of Elba, the pearl of the Tuscan islands and the heart of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago, can be easily reached by ferries departing from the port of Piombino Marittima (Livorno province). An hour of navigation to cover about 10 km of sea and to reach the ports of Portoferraio, capital of Elba, and Rio Marina. There is also a fast passenger-only hydrofoil connection that reaches Portoferraio in just under forty minutes. The ferries make several trips a day for passengers and vehicles: Toremar, Moby Lines, Blu Navy, Corsica Ferries.

  • By car:

    Those traveling by car from the north to Piombino Marittima must take the A1 motorway from Milan and then the Parma Ovest on the A15 in the direction of Genoa-Livorno (A12). Then drive out in Rosignano and continue on the expressway to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.
    If you are coming from the northeast, take the A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano and continue to the port of Piombino. From the south, follow the A 12 Rome-Grosseto motorway to Rosignano Marittima and then continue on the motorway to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.

  • By plane:

    The island of Elba can also be reached by plane. La Pila Airport, 2 km from Marina di Campo, is open all year round, but is particularly active in the summer months. Internal air connections exist with Milan Linate, Lugano, Florence and Pisa.

How to get to the Hotel Gallo Nero

From Portoferraio, where the main port of the island is located, follow the signs to Procchio – Marciana – Sant’Andrea, which can be reached after about 30 km by road in about 45 minutes. A few hundred meters before the beach is the Gallo Nero car park on the left.
